Apple Tree Hill School

A few pictures from Conor's 8th birthday and the trip we took to celebrate. We all had a wonderful time!

Testing this out to see if everything is working to be able to do pictures correctly again. I am learning some new ediring software and have no idea if I am using it right. So, on to a test oicture of me on pumpkin carving day since people have been asking for pictures of my pregnant belly. This is 35 weeks exactly.

This was our second story in the Saints and Heroes block. The boys really loved this story. It was a huge hit and I think the lesson in the story was a good one as well. For a project, we made cardboard shields. We read about what the different colors and symbols on shields mean and then we each drew out a shield with what we planned to put on it and then made a list of what supplies like paint colors and stencils we would each need. We spent a day gathering supplies and then 4 days actually making and painting the shields. They really took their time and did an amazing job. The shields are now displayed in the main part of the house and I could not be happier with the results and how the whole lesson went. I will put some pictures up as soon as we figure out some technical difficulties we are having.

The next story we are reading and working with is one about a young prince by Dorothy Harrer.
